AGEAS BOWL 10K

I am so pleased to have made it round, phew! This is my 1st 10k since mid June and my dodgy leg and I must admit I found it hard! Quite warm already at the 9am start. The course is on closed roads and has some nice lanes and some main roads. Around 700 runners competing, we had time to chat in the stadium beforehand with my brother who lives nearby who came out to support.

I first did this race as a 5 miler back in 2015 & 2016 with Paul and then as a 10k back in 2018 with Chani when I set my PB. Knew I would be waaaaay slower this year but tbh it was good to make it to the finish! Got a tummy ache at 5k but it went off after a bit luckily. The last km is in the stadium grounds which gives you a boost as you know you’re nearly there, though they send you around the top path and then in through the team entrance with a lap of the stadium and headed into the finish.

My brother Andrew was taking photos as I headed into the stadium which was a nice surprise and then popped up again in the stalls before the finish line! And Kenny was there cheering me near the finish.

We watched the finishers come in and then retired to the cafe for a well deserved drink – a good morning out!
