Steve Hickman undertook a mammoth challenge of 100km on foot along the oldest path in Britain this weekend.
The Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones is a fully supported 100km challenge along the iconic Ridgeway. Steve and his friend, Neil Buckley, ran the distance from the start line in Oxfordshire to the finish next to the 5,000-year-old stone circle at Avebury. Some participants choose to breakup the race with an overnight stay the basecamp or even to run in relay but Steve completed it in an astounding time of 16.51.44 a position of 444th out of some 2000 runners for all events including the 2 day option, and an age position of 40th.
