A rainy start was on the cards as our team of runners lined up for the second league race of the season.
Hosted by Hardley Runners, the 13.1 miles began at Gang Warily Recreation Centre in Blackfield.
A beautifully scenic, but somewhat soggy course stretched out before them, taking in winding country lanes. The first few miles took them toward the edge of the New Forest, (complete with wild ponies wandering around)
Onward the runners went heading toward Exbury then down to the shoreline at Lepe where the runners turned for home. Wiggling back through more country lanes, the course took them out to Fawley before they negotiated the only inclines of the course as they finally returned to the recreation centre.
Stu was home but not dry in a nifty 34th overall and 3rd V45. Jodie ran another PB to finish 12th female and 2nd V35. Ian Dyer smashed his target of 1 hour 55 mins. Tanya bought the teams bidding to a close.
Stuart Backhouse – 1.25.29
Jodie Wilmott – 1.34.39
Ian Dyer – 1.53.07
Tanya Clifford – 2.24.24
No medals this time…. just a rather fetching purple vest….
