Pouring rain, thunder and lightening greeted runners at Queensgate Primary School. The 10 mile run now in it’s fifth year – saw an unprecedented out-turn of 155 participants, but with 100 medals on site all those finishing after these were exhausted we’re promised them through the post. Designed by one of the school children.
The weather didn’t deter the IOWRR’s we turned out in force – 32 hardy souls!
The course started and finished at the school, detoured through Osborne House and Barton Manor estates, off to Wootton then back again. Lots of large up and downhill sections with the weather turning to sunshine after about 30minutes.
Well done all, especially those tackling the distance for the first time and well done Harry Rann – 4th man home in a great time of 1:10:16 second claim IOWRR running for IOWAC. Also Trish Train for being 1st woman home!
