{"id":979,"date":"2015-11-23T17:28:05","date_gmt":"2015-11-23T17:28:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?p=979"},"modified":"2015-11-23T17:28:05","modified_gmt":"2015-11-23T17:28:05","slug":"meon-valley-marathon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?p=979","title":{"rendered":"Meon Valley Marathon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had \u00a0one IOWRR travel to Meon Valley in Southampton to take on a\u00a0muddy multi-terrain Marathon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?attachment_id=981\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-981\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-981\" src=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/ian.jpg\" alt=\"ian\" width=\"328\" height=\"557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/ian.jpg 328w, https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/ian-177x300.jpg 177w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 328px) 100vw, 328px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With over 800 metres of elevation the course is run on country lanes, trails and grass, this is a challenging marathon, but rewards you\u00a0with fabulous views over the beautiful Meon Valley, across Hampshire to the Isle of Wight.<\/p>\n<p>Run mainly on footpaths, bridleways and byways, there will be route-marking with signs and repeater\u00a0tape and\u00a0multiple water\/feed stations along the way.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?attachment_id=980\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-980\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-980\" src=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/meon.jpg\" alt=\"meon\" width=\"1366\" height=\"771\" srcset=\"https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/meon.jpg 1366w, https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/meon-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/meon-1024x578.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px\" \/><\/a>The route has technical\u00a0challenges\u00a0with slippery descents on chalky tracks, and is muddy in places, but the entire route should be runnable.<br class=\"editor_accent\" \/><br class=\"editor_accent\" \/>In\u00a0a field of 133 finishers Ian came 93rd in a time of 05:24:10 &#8211; Excellent running in some tough conditions!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We had \u00a0one IOWRR travel to Meon Valley in Southampton to take on a\u00a0muddy multi-terrain Marathon.
