There are a variety of distances on offer starting with the shortest of distances being a 5k. But one person in particular seems to have developed a particular love for this course, so much so that he just cant help going back, continually choosing to run 11 and a bit laps around it…….yes, you heard me……11 and a bit laps!

Second claim club member and total marathon loon Glen Jones couldn’t put his feet up for any longer than 3 weeks following his seven marathons in seven days, and yet again paid his money to run the marathon distance around the track. Luckily, weather conditions were more favourable on the day than they had been on previous visits when the strong cutting wind had been particularly cruel. Round and round he went ticking off each 2.5 mile lap, counting down as he went.

Our crazy marathon junkie finished with a fantastic sub 4 time, second in his age category and taking home with him some brand new bling to add to the ever increasing collection.

Later, after evaluating his performance from the days proceedings, Glen gave an account of his somewhat critical analysis on Facebook, saying “Shocking pacing, started off thinking I was Mo Farah, finished like Mo from EastEnders.
