The banks of the River Avon were the backdrop of the seventh Hampshire Road Race League race. Starting in the City of Salisbury Athletics track, an impressive 15 Roadrunners and 2 second claim made the trip across the Solent to compete in this 10 mile race.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perfect weather conditions made for perfect running conditions as our runners found themselves winding North from the city, making their way along the picturesque and undulating course to the Woodford Valley and then returning with the Cathedral spires in view to finish back on the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steve Apsey, clearly fully recovered from his great run at the Steyning Marathon only weeks before was the first of our chaps home. He finished with a brilliant time of 1:09:57.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tim Keyte continues his great form since returning following an injury earlier in the year and was second home for the boys in a time of 1:15:28, whilst John Newsham took the third spot finishing in 1:16:03 and completing the first mens team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the ladies it was Carolyn Littleton that made it back to the track first with yet another fabulous performance and a PB of 1:20:54, also taking 5th spot in the F55 category. Following the race Carolyn told me “I really enjoyed Salisbury, perfect weather and lovely route……..and very happy with an unexpected 10 mile PB!”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah Ward was little over a minute behind Carolyn after only days before not being entirely sure whether she’d even make the start line. She of course did what she always does when wearing her club colours and got out there and shone like a superstar, making it home in 1:22:02, taking 7th in her F50 age category and with a brand new PB cherry on the cake of awesomeness!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alicia Burr completed the First Ladies team, with a whopping 11 minute PB and crossed the line in1:26:30. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notable performance also from Ian Dyer who ran his fastest 10 mile race in 9 years crossing the line in a brilliant 1:18:12, Caroline Curliss who goes from strength to strength with her running and bagged herself another PB taking 5 minutes off her previous time, and Kenny Harrison who also got himself a shiny new PB crown. 👑 🤩<\/p>\n\n\n\n
