We had a team of six relay runners, a driver and navigator\/timer. The race is split into 18 legs, distances ranging from 3.8 miles to 8.6 miles. All the legs included some very serious hills, some so steep they had to be scaled scrambling up or down. Finishing in\u00a0Chilcomb, Winchester.<\/p>\n<p>The weather was cloudy with a few breaks in the day for sunshine, light wind and warm temperatures which made this tough race even harder.<\/p>\n<p>This year a total of 62 teams started the race, there&#8217;s a cut off time at the end of leg 15 &#8211; IOWRR&#8217;s were 20 minutes inside of their cut-off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?attachment_id=1300\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1300\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1300\" src=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/tshirt-1.jpg\" alt=\"tshirt\" width=\"545\" height=\"793\" srcset=\"https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/tshirt-1.jpg 545w, https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/tshirt-1-206x300.jpg 206w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 545px) 100vw, 545px\" \/><\/a>Unfortunately due to injury Phil completed one leg and the other runners had to share out his other two legs, which meant they all completed between 18 &#8211;\u00a020 miles of undulations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?attachment_id=1301\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1301\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1301\" src=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/southdowns.jpg\" alt=\"southdowns\" width=\"852\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/southdowns.jpg 852w, https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/southdowns-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/southdowns-768x577.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 852px) 100vw, 852px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>IOWRR&#8217;s finished in a total time of 13:08:15 placing them 28th overall.<\/p>\n<p>Very impressive &#8211; well done all!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was the second year a team of IOWRR&#8217;s took on the 100 mile South Downs Way Relay.
