He took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon World Championships, which was set to be one of the most prestigious and enthralling UK endurance events of the year. There were a massive 54 countries represented and 16,000 participants to include elite men and women.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?attachment_id=1187\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1187\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1187\" src=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/cardiff-hm.jpg\" alt=\"cardiff hm\" width=\"687\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/cardiff-hm.jpg 687w, https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/cardiff-hm-268x300.jpg 268w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 687px) 100vw, 687px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The race started outside Cardiff Castle\u00a0before runners then head down past Cardiff City Stadium on the way to Penarth. They take in the glorious Penarth Marina before crossing the barrage and heading to Cardiff Bay. Runners run right through the heart of the bay taking in the Norwegian Church and\u00a0Wales Millennium Centre.\u00a0The course then heads towards the north of the city with runners completing a loop of the beautiful Roath Park Lake before the grandstand finish\u00a0on King Edward V11 Avenue amid a number of Cardiff University\u2019s most impressive university buildings.<a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?attachment_id=1187\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1187\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?attachment_id=1189\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1189\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1189\" src=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/cardiff12.jpg\" alt=\"cardiff12\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/cardiff12.jpg 600w, https:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/cardiff12-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The weather was atrocious with high winds and torrential rain. A few undulations but lots of support from the crowds of Cardiff.
