A glorious nature reserve. A 6 hour timed event to run as many 4.4 mile loops around this pancake flat\u00a0corner of the uk. What an idyllic way to spend a balmy August evening for our super experienced Mr.Marathon man, Steve Hickman&#8230;&#8230;what could possibly go wrong?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHow hard could it be?\u201d Steve said on Facebook&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>75mph winds&#8230;. that\u2019s what could go wrong.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt couldn\u2019t have been any windier\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The geography of the area that makes is so beautiful, also makes it one of the exposed parts of the coast.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2048\" height=\"2048\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2D2859FA-70FD-49B9-89D9-9A5A6CDF78CD.jpeg?fit=474%2C267&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6075\" srcset=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2D2859FA-70FD-49B9-89D9-9A5A6CDF78CD.jpeg 2048w, http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2D2859FA-70FD-49B9-89D9-9A5A6CDF78CD-768x768.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting at the sailing club at 4pm, Steve set out towards the Nature Reserve past the Mary Stanford Lifeboat House and on toward, but not quite reaching the red roof of \u201cGrans Hut\u201d with 26 wind turbines in the distance.
