It\u2019s easy to see why too. Once on the famous street they headed in the direction of the City. Round the arc of Aldwych they went before disappearing toward Chancery Lane. Passing Holborn Cross and St. Paul\u2019s Cathedral, they each took a turn at the Bank of England, bringing them back past St.Pauls for the return journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1959\" height=\"1408\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/9CD5D71B-9E05-4F12-8091-21ED9BEB811C.jpeg?fit=474%2C267&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5739\" srcset=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/9CD5D71B-9E05-4F12-8091-21ED9BEB811C.jpeg 1959w, http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/9CD5D71B-9E05-4F12-8091-21ED9BEB811C-768x552.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1959px) 100vw, 1959px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>They then wiggled their way back to The Strand, continuing past Charing Cross before heading down Whitehall and the welcome sign of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament with 1km go. A sharp right turn took them down Birdcage Walk to the finish line outside Buckingham Palace.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steve was the first roadrunner back after a considerable period away from racing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI really enjoyed that! It was a tad congested at times but I\u2019m really pleased. It\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve raced since September\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Claire was next back, showing no signs of her sleepless night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI thoroughly enjoyed running through the streets of London\u201d Claire chirps the next day \u201cI saw Mo, Jess Ennis Hill and one of the Brownlee brothers, it was great! I was happy with my time considering all the early morning commotion\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dave completed the bidding for the Roadrunners&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat was my Christmas present from one of my sons.
