{"id":5323,"date":"2019-03-23T13:02:07","date_gmt":"2019-03-23T13:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?p=5323"},"modified":"2019-03-25T17:03:20","modified_gmt":"2019-03-25T17:03:20","slug":"lentemarathon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/?p=5323","title":{"rendered":"Lentemarathon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Based in the suburban areas south of the city of Amsterdam centre, this is a picturesque marathon covering banksides, forests and the streets of Amstelveen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ian Dyer somehow managed to make it over The Channel this weekend after forgetting his wallet and his pre paid tickets&#8230; luckily he remembered his passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be an expensive weekend for my mate haha\u201d he chirps after realising his mistake.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ian\u2019s bad luck didn\u2019t stop there. The tram system that operates in the area was not working on the morning of the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI had to walk and got lost. Ian then disappeared in to Amsterdam Forest for a quite a while as 12 more beautiful km ticked by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was pancake flat. Ian turned south following the Bovenkerkerpolder as he made his way toward Uithoorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat bit was tough because you could just see open ground for miles and miles around\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ian eventually found himself on the banks of the River Amstel.
