A relatively flat and fast course, it is great for testing race pace with a good possibility of setting a 20 mile pb.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/23A81A75-B59E-49B6-8D97-81F5231BDD9D.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3372\" src=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/23A81A75-B59E-49B6-8D97-81F5231BDD9D.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"783\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s exactly what husband and wife Julie &amp; Peter Dixon were hoping to do as they prepare for their marathons in April. Julie running London and Pete running Brighton.<\/p>\n<p>The conditions were dry but cold as they made their way around the course, navigating the winding country lanes and routes through the forest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy first half went well\u201d Julie tells me \u201cbut I struggled to maintain my pace after about 16 miles. It was freezing cold and the headwind was biting\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/892795A8-DE7C-494F-8A5E-F9DC8A5CF53E.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3373\" src=\"http:\/\/isleofwightroadrunners.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/892795A8-DE7C-494F-8A5E-F9DC8A5CF53E.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"482\" height=\"870\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Despite this Julie still smashed her pb from last year taking off 11 minutes, to come across the line in 2.48.15. Husband Peter also obliterated his goal time of 3 hours 10 mins to cross the finish in an awesome 3.02.49.
